The Sky Is Everywhere - Jandy Nelson
summary
Lennie Walker is seventeen when her sister Bailey suddenly dies. From that moment on she is on her own, while Lennie is used to staying safe in the shade of her tempting sister. In addition, despite her non-existent history with love, suddenly two boys demand her attention. Toby was Bailey's boyfriend, and they seem to be the only ones who really understand each other's grief. Joe is new, comes from Paris and has a magical grin and an incredible musical talent. Lennie struggles with her new place at the center of attention and with the attention of Toby and Joe. With one person she forgets her sorrow, but only the other can comfort her.
For Lennie, the boys are like the sun and the moon. And she knows that when they collide, the whole world explodes.
Review
When yo read a story around the loss of someone the main character love, you expect a emotional book. but a good book that deals with sadness after losing someone also gives you hope and I find that so important in such a book. And this book has certainly done that.
I was not a fan of the romance / love triangle. I also thought it was strange that Joe was at her house one day and then invited himself every day. And how can you kiss your dead sister's boyfriend / fiancé?
The book is beautifully written, there was a poem from time to time, I enjoyed that. But I don't think I'll read this book again.
